WINDPOMP SJERRIE MTB

EVENT MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES (Online entries @ EntryNinja)

The WINDPOMP has been the symbol of hope for decades on farms throughout Southern Africa. I believe this small event can influence people to think differently about the future of our country. Small things can make a difference.

The DREAM for the event was to celebrate the pure joy of fresh water and a healthy lifestyle. For this purpose, we’ve discussed and argue every possible option to help cyclists to be out there again in Stilbaai. We’ve chosen the weekend of EASTER in Stilbaai. The date for 2021 is the 5th of April 2021.

In terms of the marketing mix, we can confirm the following parties to be involved in the event as they really made it possible for us to pitch this experience to you;

  • Hansgrohe SA

This sponsorship means a lot to us as the famous brand supports the Tour de France pro, Peter Sagan and Team. Cyclists will not only win prize money but the winners in the 60, 120 and 160km events will receive custom Cycling Tops boosting the brand names of elite cycling.

Part of this SPONSORHIP offers 5 x Hansgrohe Power Rainshowers worth R6000 each. The Lucky Draw will offer you the opportunity to win one of these faviourable gifts!

Make sure to order your Hansgrohe/WINDPOMP Cycling top on entering the event. Tops will be available at R890/each.

DISTANCE & ROUTE

Julie se Baai and STABLES provides the perfect venue for our coastal autumn morning start @ 07H00 for the first 10km cyclists and the rest will follow @07H30. Once the kick off whistle blows on Monday the 5th of April 2021, its all the various cyclists to combine their effort on the last day of cycling. The testy climbs along the GOUKOU River will soon spread the field out and from there it is in to farms and more farms, river crossings and the first test of the day towards the BEACON. The pace will vary from cyclist to cyclist, each with their own personal goal in mind.

Don’t ever again under estimate Stilbaai to be just another coastal town. The people of the south are farmers and cyclists who are proud about the Cape and we want you to visit again…keep our place kleen and save!

A really sweet section of single-track after 8km on the cobble stones and gravel travel sets the tone for the journey ahead: long stretches mixed with sections of happiness. The private farmlands are picturesque. Places like Kleinbergskloof, Palmyra, Waterryk and Riethuiskraal will awaken your imagination.  The Klipfontein farms of Altus Joubert and the olive farmyard surrounded by epic rock walls are something not to be found in the rest of Southern Africa.
